I learnt with disgust that Dr Fazal Mahmud, or Dr Fraud, as one blog calls him owns eight houses in London. His lackey Nazrul Islam Bashon owns three. I also hear on the grapevine that his outfit might have been involved in money laundering for the likes of Delwar Hossain Sayeedi, the extremist Jamaat politician. I wait for the fog to clear on this. In his interview with Angela Saini Dr Fraud pleads that its his moral, social and religious duty to reimburse those hapless people who lost the money they thought they were remitting to Bangladesh. Well it sounds like Mahmud has a ready made solution. Given the value of London properties, he shouldn’t have any problem in returning the money should he?

This is an extremely sad and unfortunate event for the whole Bangladeshi community for a number of reasons. Firstly, we have a great deal of strong foot-soldiers who are able to move news, without due care and attention, from one end of the world to another. The misfortunes of a large number of people have become ‘the vehicle of pleasure’ for many. Those who have nothing else to do than live in luxury in the tax-payers contributions now can easily engage them in this task. Is it not interesting that people who rely on payments from social security are so generous in supporting their families back-home and fulfilling their desires and ambitions!
Secondly, this is a true reflection of partisan propaganda at its very best. It is very natural for businesses to succeed as well as fail. Should we not have a duty to give time and space before making judgements and spreading pure ‘gossip’ about individuals who we held so high yesterday? Dr Fazal Mahmood and his colleagues were individuals pursuing a business venture. It is sheer nonsense to view them as part of an organisation that planned to deceive the general public. Furthermore, it is only possible for a pure barmy or absolute ignorant to link them with ‘Jamat’ or any other such organisations.
Thirdly, I find it quite amusing that some people are on their knees asking George Galloway for his help! When are we going to realise that the best ways to move forward is to help ourselves. People like George Galloway are almost like scavengers – and will always be there to take a bit from the dead. Where are those who are alive – we need a great deal more of the living and less of the dead in such critical times.
Let us look at this situation objectively. The law in this country is much more even than we care to give credit for. I am sure justice will be done. However, whether we will learn a lesson from this is anyone’s guess….

I have a lot of questions about your post here. However, i suspect I am not going to get a reasonable response from you. But lets try. Firstly, are you suggesting the people who lost their money are all on the dole? That the money is not theirs? That somehow as it is not theirs this loss is not such a big deal. I am sorry but I totally failed to understand your first paragraph. Please explain.
And if I get an answer, maybe we can move on to the other questions I have.
